Usually, short term health insurance policies are not renewable and therefore not meant to be purchased in place of regular coverage. For the most part, they are fee for service or indemnity plans which means that routine check-ups and preventative care won’t be covered. Dental and vision aren’t covered either and most pre-existing conditions claims are denied as well. Most policies can also apply to spouses and dependent children.
