Aetna Senior Health Care

Aetna
151 Farmington Avenue, RE6A
Hartford, CT 06156

Aetna is one of the companies working with Medicare to expand your choices in health care coverage. While the Original Medicare covers basic medical costs, it leaves a lot of expense to you.

Aetna Medicare Products Can Offer You Options with the Following Benefits:

  • Low premiums
  • No deductibles
  • Predictable costs
  • Prescription drug coverage
  • Hospital coverage
  • Extras such as vision and hearing services

What types of plans does Aetna offer for seniors?

The specific plans offered depend on where you live.. The following products represent national features of the Aetna Medicare program:

  • Medicare Advantage Plans

Cover the same benefits as Original Medicare, plus these plans add benefits such as hearing and vision coverage. You can include prescription drug coverage if you like. These are a good choice for you if you would like the security of added benefits above and beyond your basic Medicare coverage.

Aetna Medicare Advantage Plans offer you a choice of two types of care— health maintenance organizations (HMOs) or preferred provider organizations (PPOs).

HMO plans, such as the Aetna Golden Medicare Plan®, offer lower premiums and more services than Medicare because they operate within a network of providers. These plans come with or without prescription drug coverage.

PPO plans, such as the Aetna Golden ChoicePlan, give you the freedom to see a doctor outside of the network, for an increased fee. All PPO plans come with prescription drug coverage.

  • Aetna Medicare Rx Plan

This plan lets you add Medicare prescription drug coverage to your existing Medicare policy. It is a good choice for you if you have Medicare Part A and B and you’d like to add prescription drug coverage.
  • Aetna Individual Medicare Supplement Plans (Also called “Medigap” plans)

A Medicare Supplement Plan helps covers costs, such as deductibles and coinsurance, that Medicare doesn’t pay. Unlike an Advantage Plan, it does not cover the same benefits of Medicare but adds to (“supplements”) them.

These plans have higher premiums than Medicare Advantage Plans. Prescription drug coverage is not included. A Supplement Plan is a good choice for you if you want the freedom to go to the doctor or hospital of your choice, rather staying within a “network.”
