Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City (BCBS KC)

Blue Cross of Kansas City was founded in 1938. Kansas City Blue Shield was started in 1943. In 1982, the two companies merged to create Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (BCBSKC). Since then, the company has served over 900,000 members in the Kansas City metropolitan area including 32 counties in northwestern Missouri and Johnson and Wyandotte Counties in Kansas (as of 2009).

BCBS Kansas City proudly offers the same Blues plans available at all Blues organizations across the country.
